Our Wines
2023 Hanzell Heritage Chardonnay
An estate blend, sourced from thirty-two acres of our Ambassador’s 1953, Day, de Brye, Ramos & Zellerbach vineyard blocks all on rocky volcanic and clay-loam soils. Wente and Hanzell clones are planted primarily on St. George rootstock. The average vine age by volume is 40 years.
Cheerful and bright, the lifted aromas of tangerine, Meyer lemon, yellow apple, pear, lemon verbena, wet slate, pink lemonade and fresh cut grass abound. Like the nose, the palate radiates with sunny flavors including Seville orange, lemon oil, lemon zest, grapefruit, lemon balm, orange oil, honeysuckle and a slight note of hazelnut. Long, lively and juicy on the finish, there’s a lovely tension and energy which compels another taste. Absolutely delicious!

2023 Hanzell Heritage Pinot Noir
An estate blend, sourced from twelve acres of our Ambassador’s 1953, de Brye, Maggie’s and Sessions vineyard blocks, all on rocky clay-loam soils, with an average vine age by volume of 33 years.
Intriguing aromas of raspberry, blood orange zest, Bing cherry, pomegranate, juicy Santa Rosa plum, pink peppercorn, forest floor and a hint of radish top abound. Reflecting the aromas, the palate is bursting with vibrant red fruits, offering up additional notes of cranberry, wild strawberry, hints of wild blueberry, thyme and cherry tobacco. The finish is long and juicy with fine, smooth tannins and beautifully balanced acidity. A real treat to enjoy now, this Pinot Noir will surely age for decades to come.

2020 Hanzell Heritage
Cabernet Sauvignon
An estate blend, sourced from two acres of our Zellerbach and de Brye vineyard blocks, all on rocky clay-loam soils, planted in 2012.
Complex and lovely on the nose, aromatic notes of blackberry, blueberry, cassis, anise, baking spices, worn leather and forest floor emanate. The palate reflects the complexity of the nose and brings forth raspberry, boysenberry, juicy dark plum and woodsy herbs. Eminently drinkable in its’ youth, the beautifully integrated yet structured tannins and balanced acidity offer plenty of structure to make this a wine worthy of aging for years to come.

2021 Hanzell Chardonnay, Ambassador’s 1953 Vineyard
Only seventy-five cases produced from within our original two acre vineyard block planted by Ambassador Zellerbach in 1953.
Layered, alluring aromas of Bosc pear, honeysuckle, Douglas Fir, orange peel, lemon verbena, kiwi and graphite radiate. Showing beautiful and rich texture, the palate mirrors the nose with complementing impressions of Meyer lemon curd, chamomile, crème brûlée, lemon blossoms and wet slate. Long and exquisite on the finish, the beauty and concentration of this old vine fruit truly shines. We recommend an hour or two in decanter to enjoy now or make room in your cellar to appreciate and re-discover this wine for decades to come.

2023 Hanzell Pinot Noir,
Ambassador’s 1953 Vineyard
Only seventy-five cases produced from within our original two acre vineyard block planted by Ambassador Zellerbach in 1953.
The nose is bursting with bright, juicy, red fruit aromas of Bing cherry, pomegranate and wild raspberry alongside a beautiful rose perfume quality. All that lovely red fruit from the aromatics is there on the palate packed with blood orange, cranberry, Bergamot, tangerine, anise and pink peppercorn. Lively and pristine on the palate, the finish is balanced and incredibly long. Truly another stunning wine from our Ambassador’s 1953 Vineyard, which turned seventy years old in the 2023 vintage, and in our opinion just keeps getting better!

2024 Hanzell Farm Chardonnay,
The Zellerbach Selection
Ethereal and lacey aromas of orange oil, lemon zest, lime juice, tangerine, lemon thyme, lemon verbena, wet slate and before the rain abound. The palate has a delicious orange cream, lemon curd, white pepper, pink grapefruit and loads of lemony herbs. Delicious and lingering on the palate, this is a lovely Chardonnay.

2024 Hanzell Chardonnay,
The de Brye Selection
Floral aromas of jasmine, peach blossom, apple blossom and honeysuckle overflow, followed by juicy white peach, lemon zest, pear and yellow apple with additional notes of Douglas Fir. With a long, bright finish, the palate is densely packed with flavors of white peach, honeydew, Meyer lemon, cantaloupe and wet stone. This is an absolutely lovely Chardonnay!

2024 Hanzell Farm Pinot Noir,
The Maggie’s Selection
Lovely and lifted aromas of bright Bing cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry and a hint of cherry cola along with notes of wet granite and rose petal abound. The palate echoes the nose with additional notes of cranberry, crushed raspberry, pink peppercorn, thyme, blood orange, forest floor and cherry tobacco make for a long, complex and beautifully balanced finish.

2023 Hanzell “Sebella” Chardonnay
Hanzell “Sebella” is crafted from the younger within our Day and Zellerbach vineyard blocks with an average vine age by volume of 17 years. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in neutral French oak barrels for six months, Hanzell “Sebella” captures our classic minerality, bright fruit, and signature aroma of Chardonnay flowers in bloom.
Bursting with aromas of orange blossom, honeysuckle, mango, lemon verbena, lime zest, and a lifted chalky minerality, the nose is bright and effusive. Pear, tangerine, lime, Meyer lemon, kumquat and hints of arugula carry on a textured and buoyant long juicy and tremendously delicious finish.

2022 Hanzell “Sebella” Pinot Noir
We work in partnership with like-minded growers along the sonoma coast to craft a wine of intense fruit complexity, depth and structure, mirroring the age-worthy wines of the hanzell estate.
Intriguing and mouthwatering aromas of pomegranate, Bing cherry, cranberry, wild blueberry, tangerine, cherry tobacco, Daikon radish and redwood forest floor emanate from the glass. Dense in flavor, the palate meets all expectations with additional notes of blood orange and kumquat carried on a lovely texture which is velvety, taut and lifted all at once. Fermented with 41% whole cluster, the 2022 Hanzell “Sebella” Pinot Noir finish is long, juicy and simply delicious.
