"Hanzell's 50 year history is perhaps the equivalent of 300 years in Burgundy. California has a few older wineries that are still producing, but none has honored its past like Hanzell. To make the wine here is to participate in winemaking history and I feel charged with a great responsibility to honor the traditions established by Brad Webb and carried forward faithfully by Bob Sessions. As Americans we embrace newness far more than we reward tradition and it is incumbent on me to bear the standard for the past. Hanzell has made it this far without any compromise and I am thrilled to contribute to its longevity and protect its integrity.”
Mr. Terrien holds a Master's degree in Enology from UC Davis and has been working with Hanzell since 2005. |
